If you are a customer of North Hinds Water Association and you are experiencing a water emergency during office hours, please call us at 601-981-1657. If it is after hours, leave a message with our answering service at (601) 981-1657. Please include your name, address and the phone number you are calling from. A staff member with return your call promptly.
What should I do if a Boil Water Advisory is issued in my area?
It’s recommended to boil your water vigorously for one minute before consuming it until the boil water advisory is lifted. Typically, it takes several days for the Mississippi State Department of Health to confirm that all samples collected meet safety standards and that the water is safe for consumption.
How will you notify me of a boil water alert?
In the event that a boil water advisory becomes necessary, we employ various methods to notify our customers. For widespread advisories, we may utilize TV news media to disseminate the alert. Additionally, we will post it on our website and utilize our email alert notification system. For more localized advisories, such as smaller areas affected, we employ street signage or direct notices at the affected residences to inform residents of the boil water notice.
How do I discontinue or transfer my water service?
To discontinue your water service, kindly reach out to us via phone, mail, or visit our office to request the termination of service under your name. If you’re relocating within our service area and wish to transfer your service, please give us a call.
As a customer, what portion of my water line is my responsibility?
The customer is accountable for the portion of the water system extending from the water meter to the house. North Hinds Water Association is responsible from the meter connection on the customer’s side of the meter back to the main line.
